HISTORY OF THE THIRTEEN DEAD KIDS BRAND
Announced on January 1st 2004, Thirteen Dead Kids was a website centred on a merchandise line and projected to be a book or comic started and written by Wednesday 13, frontman of the horror punk/glam metal band Murderdolls and many other bands. He created it alongside his wife at the time, Roxanne, who designed the logos and the colorization of the Thirteen Dead Kids sketches done by Wednesday 13.
A few clothing items, as well as stickers, were released but the line stopped after touring started to build up, and he started to plan a solo career. The said comic book was said to be left “hanging around in limbo until I have time to getting around and finishing it” - Wednesday 13, Oct 11 2006 Interview.
The URL and presumed plans for production only registered around 25 December 2003, only having a landing page displaying nothing but a hearse and text that read “coming soon.” The main parts of the website came along with the announcement of the production of the merch line, sometime around January 1st 2004.
The website also now contained multiple pages, those of which included; A forum to post on, “Death Announcements,” which had been planned to contain a list of members similar to a fanlisting, links bringing you to Wednesday's other projects, and “Meet the kids” which contained a logo as well as a small drawing of each of the kids and a small biography about how they died, a “Recently Deceased” page explaining how to get on the previously explained members list, a “Store” page, and a “Weekly Weird News” page. The next biggest development within this site came in a complete redesign in 2005, keeping the same pages but restructuring the info to be compiled easier to understand and looked the same as this page does now.

During the development of these pages, there would be news updates held within the site, but not much development would be publicly known about the planned cartoon or the kids themselves, apart from their small biographies, which were left unchanged and most pictures of said kids remain to be lost to this day because they were not captured by any archival websites. The only clue we have to what each kid's name was, connecting them to their image, is the small preview you could see on the store's prints section.
The news section was left with a small message at the end of 2004: “As 2004 is coming to an end, Mr. and Mrs. 13 want to thank everyone for their support and help in launching this little monster. Unfortunately, The Thirteen Dead Kids book has been pushed back and is now slated for a late 2005 release. Look out for all the new scareware in 2005 and remember to spread the dead.”
The news page had not been updated past that for the rest of its lifespan, along with any other part of the website, and the artist behind it all began to grow following the release of his first solo record called “Transylvania 90210: Songs of Death, Dying, and the Dead.” Not too long after, the URL was left to rot and finally expired on Jan 14th, 2007, with no mentions since, making the Thirteen dead kids last at most 2003 to 2007; existing for a total of 4 years.

Wednesday 13, born August 14th, 1976, is a horror punk artist from North Carolina, America. He is
best known for his role as the frontman of the horror punk band Murderdolls, but he has a long
history of bands he's been part of, including Maniac Spider Trash, Frankenstein Drag Queens from
Planet 13, Bourbon Crow, and Gunfire 76.
Wednesday 13’s music is inspired by a lot of horror movies and singers he grew up with, like KISS, Alice Cooper, and twisted sister. He has published 14 albums in his solo career and many more throughout his multiple projects, all of which you can listen to at the links below.
